Meet the Main Cast:

Amphibia Anne Boonchuy

Anne was described as “fearless and independent” by her voice actress, Brenda Song.

Amphibia Sprig Plantar

Sprig Plantar is a young poison dart frog with reddish pink skin and blonde hair. Sprig is very energetic and reckless, causing him to regularly get into trouble.

Despite his troublesome tenancies, he has several talents and is friendly to everyone. He becomes Anne’s first true friend and helps her grow into a responsible character.

Hop Pop Plantar from Amphibia

Hopadiah “Hop Pop” Plantar is the grandfather of Sprig and Polly Plantar. Hop Pop is a tradition-loving 68-year-old farmer.

He is a terrible cook, a strange dancer, and a failed actor. While he acts grumpy, he cares greatly about his grandchildren and considers Anne as part of the family.

Polly Plantar from Amphibia

Polly Plantar is Sprig’s younger sister and Hop Pop’s granddaughter. She is tomboyish, gross, and considers girly activities to be boring.

Polly likes weapons and outlandish or dangerous activities. She is responsible and level-headed, yet overly aggressive and dangerous.

The Story

Anne is magically transported to the world of Amphibia after stealing an enchanted music box. Amphibia is a rural marshland populated by frog-people and magical monsters. After living in a cave and trekking through the woods, she meets a young frog named Sprig Plantar.

Amphibia Review

This is a fantastic series.

Sprig and Anne’s friendship develops quickly. Through that development, Anne learns how to be responsible and what friendship is meant to be. Sprig also grows to embrace aspects of himself that he had issues with.

The mystery about how Anne came to Amphibia grows larger. As Anne grows used to life in Wartwood, she reflects on her past and the changes she had to make.

The series touches on the concept of bullying and emotional manipulation. It also throws in a dose of humor that reaches absurd levels. It’s great.

Thank you for reading my Amphibia review.
