Day # 7,837
After a small bout of insomnia, I remained awake for far too late last night. My attempt to sleep was futile, so I watched a few episodes of Star Vs. the Forces of Evil.
Is that series too childish? Only in a few instances. Apart from a few irritating characters and some awful dialogue, I’ve found the story and progressive development to be entertaining. The animation is fluid, the voice actors/actresses are fantastic, and the dark tone is welcome with the subject matter. They were the last two episodes of the third season for extra context.
I wound up going to bed sometime around 5 AM. Not my best choice and knowing that I slept until 2:30 PM. Upon waking up, I set my daily task toward doing laundry.
While I waited for both loads to be washed and dried, my breakfast turned into a late lunch. Apart from doing laundry (washed sheets too), my only accomplishment was stretching and exercising. Not a fulfilling day.
Sometime near seven, I had the desire to watch the second Harry Potter film. Upon realizing that I couldn’t watch it, I compensated with Doc Hollywood. Not exactly a fitting replacement, but it still wound up being enjoyable.
I swear Pixar ripped that film off with Cars, as the subject is mirrored identically. For a PG-13 film it got away with a fair bit (content wise). I had seen it before but forgot the rating.
Multiple uses of vulgar language and brief nudity was a bit shocking, but objectively, that is it. The nudity wasn’t explicitly sexual, so I agree with the rating.
I never understood how violence is less taboo in film compared to nudity and sex. Aggressive acts are not beneficial, whereas sexuality is life.
