Executive functions are a set of cognitive processes that are necessary for control of behavior. They are mainly monitoring and selecting behaviors that help attain chosen goals.
Basic cognitive processes include:
- Attention control
- Cognitive flexibility
- Cognitive inhibition
- Inhibitory control
- Working memory
Higher order executive functions require using multiple at once.
- Problem solving, Reasoning, Socializing, etc.

- Less overstimulated and more energetic.
- I’ve found my attitude far calmer by doing so.
Clicking endless tabs for dopamine isn’t great, as that happiness can spent elsewhere.
