Song of the Day: Valerie

Today’s song is Valerie by Rome Hero Foxes.
Most will recognize this as a cover of that famous Amy Winehouse song.
Turns out, that was also a cover from the original rock song by the Zutons.

Hate to break it to you, but some of your favorite songs are covers.
Not all artists are original.
That doesn’t mean that fresh originality cannot stem from that lack of originality.
Whatever, you get my point.

Won’t you come on over? Stop making a fool out of me.
Why don’t you come on over Valerie?

It’s a mild cover. Nothing incredibly unique, but it did make this into a soothing rendition.
Bonus points for that (because the original was extremely different).
