Song of the Day: Baba Yetu

Today’s song is Baba Yetu by Christopher Tin.
Time to feature something different.
Something beautiful that is mostly well known among small groups (and ironically PC gamers).

This song was the main introduction to Civilization IV, a popular strategy game featuring historical progression.
It is a major staple of video game music and triumph for many reasons.

The lyrics are the Lord’s Prayer in Swahili. Yeah.

If you don’t crack a smile at the endless harmonies and the brilliant progression you aren’t human.
