Song of the Day: You Can Call Me Al

Today’s song is You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon.

This song is perfect for driving long, windy roads.
It’s soothing, introspective and features a beautiful mix of instruments.
Once again, a brilliant use of saxophone, expert drumming and some banging synth elements.

Who’ll be my role model now that my role model is gone?

Those trumpets are such a fun addition to the mix.

Many consider this album to be one of the best of all time.
I like Paul Simon, but that seems situational, not objective.
Musically-speaking, I realize it’s beauty, but I can think of many albums I’d label as ‘better’.
Different strokes for different folks.
