Song of the Day: Burning Down the House

Today’s song is Burning Down the House by Talking Heads.

New wave at it’s peak.
Some funk elements, with some notions akin to DEVO.
I like that it just melts into a jam session half-way through.

Maybe you know where you are. Fightin’ fire with fire, huah.

That lead-in that breaks down into the lyrics is brilliant.

The melding of the drums and the acoustic guitar add a lot to this track.
It’s a great shakeup to the industry-polished/hyper tone from my generation.
I like that is becomes more soothing for the final minute. Adds a lot with that.
