Song of the Day: One More Day

Today’s song is One More Day by Diamond Rio.

This song tells a nice story.
It’s sentimental, contemplative and lingers on the concept of lost love.
Songs like this get a pass, even as sappy as it gets.

One more day, one more time.
One more sunset, maybe I’d be satisfied.

The ‘but then again’ lyric is what makes it kinda perfect.
It knows that reconnection would only make the longing worse going without their presence again.

The piano has a beautiful feel.
Same with with the backing acoustic guitar and the soft drums.

This is a softer song than the work that I usually highlight, and I like that.

Those who know me are aware that I claim to hate country.
That isn’t 100 percent accurate, as some context is needed.
I actually am a fan of it’s past.
What I cannot stand it’s present.
If you wonder why, I think Bo Burnham can explain the sentiments perfectly.
