Song of the Day: Easy

Today’s song is Easy by Troye Sivian.

This one is interesting.
A mellow blend of synth pop, heavy voice altering (akin to auto-tune) and a emotional flute solo.
Once the main chorus kicks in, I find the song to be rather calming, even if the song is ultimately sad.

Would you look at the space just next to your feet?
The wood is warping. The lines distorting.

This is a song about someone trying to salvage a dying relationship.
The lyrics are heartbreaking.

There is a more ‘upbeat’ version of this song that turns it into a duet with Kacey Musgraves (a country singer).
That was the version that I heard first, but I enjoy the original more.
Different tastes for different moods.
