Song of the Day: The First Single (You Know Me)

Today’s song is The First Single (You Know Me) by The Format.

Indie/Folk Rock that definitely doesn’t sound like it’s from 2003.
I was legitimately shocked to hear that was the year this was created.
Major props must be given for releasing something that isn’t clearly dated by it’s creative choices.

Okay, if you look hard enough, I’m sure you can pick apart the post-grunge/punk influences.
Sure. Whatever. The key point is that this song rocks.

Oh my God, I gave my best, but for three whole years to end like this.

The harmony between the drums, guitar and cutting lyrics are a beautiful blend.

Energetic. A bit sad when you look into the lyrics. A drum/acoustic style knows how to rock.
It’s great work (and having this be the first song of their first album is clever).
