Song of the Day: Never Let You Go

Today’s song is Never Let You Go by Third Eye Blind.

Post-grunge Alt-Rock/Powerpop (from the turn of the millennium).
What? It’s from my childhood, and nostalgia is a powerful force.

It has a great hook, an emotional lyrical base and is simple enough.
Yeah, It’s deep-rooted in the early 2000’s, but that adds to the charm.

And all our friends are gone and gone. And all the time moves on and on.

When the song mellows out to heavily delve into the lyrics you really discover the passion in this odd track.

Never cared much for the ‘closing message’, but it works just fine.
It’s an anthem for a bygone era, and that makes it such an interesting song.

Is it simple? Yeah, but the strong instrumental elements save this song from fading into obscurity.
Seriously, those drums keep the pace beautifully, the guitar riffs are incredibly catchy, and the acoustic pop-in accentuates the lyrics.
