Song of the Day: Welcome To The Black Parade
Today’s song is Welcome To The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance.
Emo/Pop-Punk/Alt-Rock.
I will die on the hill claiming that this song stands above the general tropes of the genre.
Fight me. This track has enough going for it to leave it memorable for decades.
The energy. The balance between soft, building and explosive. The harsh nature of it all together.
Your misery and hate will kill us all.
Anyone who grew up in the 2000’s and was learning piano tried to play the opening chords.
This is MCR’s most well-known song.
It’s also their most ‘theatrical’, building into an exceptional pace that is entertaining as hell.
For that, the track deserves recognition for the emphasis. It stands out from most simplistic Emo songs.
Yeah, the mid-2000’s was an odd, awkward time.
This was the last great ‘hurrah’ from the Emo era, which faltered spectacularly.
You know it’s rough when SNL is making skits lambasting it.
The emotional nature of it all leaves a rough memory in most people’s mind for a reason
