Song of the Day: Poor Unfortunate Souls
Today’s song is Poor Unfortunate Souls by The Jonas Brothers.
Pop Rock.
I know, you’re questioning my judgement with this one.
Nothing at all against the original by Pat Carroll.
Say what you will, but this was the only song by the Jonas Brothers that swayed me to think they were solid.
Most teen groups are horrific decades later.
For some reason, this group made a decent cover (for a special edition soundtrack of all things).
Go ahead! Make your choice!
Everything about this screams mid 2000’s angst. It’s kinda hilarious.
I kinda love what they did with this one.
It’s so far removed from the conversational tone of the original.
It gives it more of an edge (which makes it even more goofy).
Ironically, you can’t find it on most streaming services.
Almost as if they don’t want to recognize it.
