Song of the Day: Follow Me

Today’s song is Follow Me by Uncle Kracker.

Country Rock.
This song makes my mom happy, so I figured that I’d showcase it.

I’ve never been a large fan of country. This is a sub-genre, and I can’t say that I hate it.
The song itself is fine. It’s nostalgic for me, but I can’t say it does much more for me than that.

All you know is when I’m with you I make you free.

The lyrics themselves are a bit dodgy. I agree that it seems to be either about drugs or infidelity.

It’s soft, and rather soothing, so it has that going for it.
Has a ‘samba’ ring to it somehow (with the drum procession). Not sure why I’m getting that vibe.
The guitar breaks that apart quickly. Maybe just a late ’90’s/early 2000’s tone.
