Song of the Day: Always Something There To Remind Me

Today’s song is Always Something There To Remind Me by Naked Eye.

Synthpop/New-wave.
A cover of a song from the sixties (which was softer and more rooted in soul).
This one is almost 40 years old, and that is easily apparent.

There is more of an emphasis on the synth with this one (and it’s really in your face about it too).
That’s most new-wave.

Well, how can I forget you girl?
When there is always something there to remind me.

The bells were an interesting touch. All of the instrumentation, really.

It’s such a tonal difference from the original that it remade itself into more of an 80’s sound.
That’s why most think of the 80’s when they hear the title of this song.
Always like it when the remake is remembered fondly. It’s like it evolved.
