Song of the Day: Goodbye Soleil

Today’s song is Goodbye Soleil by Phoenix.

Synth-pop/Italo-disco.
This track is distinct enough from most of the synth-pop I frequent.

Some of the choices certainly help to push this song further into it’s own unique element.
There is a sort of ‘underwater’ feel to all of it that makes it sound warped-out.

Let’s pretend that I don’t care.

The middle of this track has such an excellent guitar riff to shake things up.

I kinda hate this song now. I’m not nearly as enamored with it as I used to be.
I’ve ‘outgrown’ the sound/style, I think.

That said, I still respect what it is trying to do. For that, I want to share it.
Adding it to my playlist may be irritating for me (because I’ll likely skip it), but that’s not awful.
There are worse songs to be subjected to than this.
