Song of the Day: The Scientist

Today’s song is The Scientist by Coldplay.

Alt-Rock.
This one is rather popular, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it is excellent.

Soft ballads like this always carry a ton of emotion, which really shines through with the lyrics.

Questions of science, science and progress, do not speak as loud as my heart.

The ‘howling’ moments make this really hard not to sing along to.

The piano, while repetitive, features a lovely melody that blends beautifully with the tone of this one.
Just enough melancholic retrospection for the relationship of the singer to be made clear.
I’ve been listening to this song for almost two decades now, and I still enjoy it. It’s got legs.
