Song of the Day: Foolish Games

Today’s song is Foolish Games by Jewel.

Pop.
For some bizarre reason this was on the Batman and Robin soundtrack.
In terms of tonal resonance for ‘Batman and Robin’, this didn’t hit that.
That oddity aside, this is a particularly nice song.

You took your coat off, You stood in the rain,
You’re always crazy like that.

It’s somber and holds that ‘mid-nineties’ edge to it that works like time-travel back to that style.

The piano keeps the pace and serves as a soothing backdrop to the ballad.
As far as lyrics go, there is a sad sentiment to them that seeps through.
The way she ‘wails’ them out at points hits quite hard at points.
It’s a nice song. Nothing you’d put on a workout mix, but it has some solid points.
