Song of the Day: Judas

Today’s song is Judas by Lady Gaga.

Electro house.
Religious connotations aside, this track has some excellent hooks.
It also sounds EXACTLY like you would imagine something from 2011.
It’s equally goofy and a decent tune.

I’m just a holy fool, oh, baby, it’s so cruel,
but I’m still in love with Judas, baby.

It’s got a powerful kick that solidifies with the beat and the progression. Gaga’s vocals add a lot.

There is an interesting rendition of this song remixed by Röyksopp.
It’s a bit messier, but I’m a sucker for the layering and the over-emphasis on the melodic hooks.
Seriously, I just really dig the sound of this one, especially once you get past the first half.
It’s mostly the lasers.
