Song of the Day: Say My Name

Today’s song is Say My Name by Destiny’s Child.

R&B/Pop
This is the type of track that works best with the blended vocals.
You also get the benefit of having Beyoncé giving a back-and-forth ‘bouncy’ tone as the main vocalist.

I know you say that I am assuming things.
Something’s going down that’s the way it seems.

I really like the way the guitar licks meld. Yeah, the drum machine and synth strings add a nice blend too.

The main focus is clearly the tone, which is regarding a relationship and suspected infidelity.
Does it repeat the ‘say my name’ line too much? Yes. Yes it does.
That said, I think the style and the beautiful vocals make up for any potential shortcomings.
