Song of the Day: How Will I Know

Today’s song is How Will I Know by Whitney Houston.

This came from Whitney’s first album.
Yeah, it sounds exactly like you would imagine from a mid-80’s track. That isn’t a bad thing.

Oh, I lose control, can’t seem to get enough, uh-huh
When I wake from dreaming, tell me, is it really love?

The synth-funk is super strong on this one, but it works in a fun way with Houston’s vocals.

This song even has a saxophone solo. You can never go wrong with a track that brings one in out of nowhere.
The focus is heavy on the ‘dance’ factor, and it makes sense. It gives off heavy ‘MTV/Montage’ vibes.
It’s a good song, and well worth highlighting. The fact that it still works almost 40 years later is nice.
