Today’s song is Poison by Bell Biv DeVoe.

New Jack Swing/Hip Hop
Most are familiar with this one, especially the hook. It’s too distinct.

Situation is serious.
Let’s cure it cause we’re running out of time.

That baseline, when you pay attention, is excellent. Focus solely on it throughout the song. It’s great.

I’m a sucker for the chorus. It cuts through it all, and the bounce back has some smooth funk.
This is one of those songs where you can pick out specific elements and jam solely to that.
That said, together, it all melds together into something much greater.
