Song of the Day: I Don’t Know You Anymore

Today’s song is I Don’t Know You Anymore by Lost Stars.

Yes, this is clear-cut pop (and a bit generic).
Sure, it might not be the most ‘heavy-hitting’, but it stuck with me through a bunch of other songs on my playlist last year.
Maybe it just hit the ‘right spot’ for me in some way that I cannot decipher.

I made a list of reasons I should stay, but it can’t outweigh all the things I hate.
Tryna find someone in you that was never there.

When this track hits, it does a decent job. I like the back and forth between the sound and the lyrics.

Songs like this offer a ‘contemporary lense’, if that makes sense.
It’s like a time-capsule (and it is only really great for that).
I’m fine with this being a song I look back at and be like “yeah, that fit the tone I felt for that period in my life”.
