Song of the Day: The Less I Know The Better

Today’s song is The Less I Know The Better by Tame Impala.

Alternative/Indie.
Psychedelic pop (with a hint of funk).
This track doesn’t work for everyone. Case in point, my Dad wasn’t a fan (go figure).
Regardless, I’ve always enjoyed the tone (and you can’t deny that baseline is killer).

Oh, my love, can’t you see yourself by my side?
I don’t suppose you could convince your lover to change his mind?

This song holds a significant level of nostalgia for the mid-2010’s. It’s one of ‘those’ tracks for me. Not even in my top 250, but it resonates with me in a very specific way.

Don’t get me wrong, I like this track just fine (and I can still groove to it). That piano is great. The vocals are solid.

It just puts me in a certain mindset. Not good. Not bad. Sort of melancholic, actually. Falls into the same category as another track on this album, Let It Happen (which upon reflection, I think I appreciate a bit more).
