Song of the Day: What I Want

Today’s song is What I Want by MUNA.

Synth Pop.
I was bound to highlight a ‘club banger’ at some point. This is the closest approximation I enjoy (as I don’t go out).
The song is goofy, gay, and really damn catchy. I’ve had it on repeat since their third album dropped.

But now I’m gonna make up for it all at once ’cause that’s, that’s just what I want.

The hook is solid. Yeah, you’ll either love it or hate it, but I thought it was worth bringing attention to.

My favorite aspects are the sweeping drums, the striking synth focus and how sharp the vocals hit.
This track using those little ‘punches’ for emphasis works well, and I like the progression.
Is it their best work? Not by a long shot (I can list five other better tracks by them), but it stuck with me for some reason.
