Song of the Day: The Chicken

Today’s song is The Chicken by Bo Burnham.

Comedy.
Calling this ‘comedy’ is absurd, but it came from a comedy album, so I suppose the label has to represent it.
This track itself is beautiful and is one of my favorites from the last year. I’ve had it on repeat for months.

The chicken must first cross the road.

Hearing this, one can easily understand why Bo Burnham is such an amazing artist.

This is an OUTTAKE. It wasn’t even on the initial release for Inside, but thrown online an entire year later.
When this is considered a ‘b-side’, you know that the artist is on a whole other level.
Yeah, it’s essentially a ‘why did the chicken cross the road?’ joke in song form.
Nobody expects such depth, therefore, comedy. I like to think it means more than that.
