Song of the Day: Morning

Today’s song is Morning by Charlotte Lawrence.

Alt Pop.
This one is a bit brutal. Raw and strong vocals that grow more heartbreaking as you listen.
The play-on-words in the chorus as Lawrence reflects on her old relationship hits like a truck.

You called me from her bedroom and said that you would be home soon.
I fell asleep and woke up alone.

Seriously, this one is lyrically straight-forward, but the depth shows upon examination and repeat plays.

It is rather fast, but I’m glad that it doesn’t languish in melancholy sadness like other songs might have.
Instead this one feels questioning and dismissive, and I like that.
