Song of the Day: After Hours

Today’s song is After Hours by The Weeknd.
To say that this album was huge would be an understatement.
It made 2020 slightly better.
For that, it deserves endless praise. It’s simply a bonus that it’s exceptional.
Where are you now when I need you most? I’d give it all just to hold you close.

It’s hard to make a long song work well. He accomplished this and then some.
The stylistic choices were great. It’s a strong album that really solidified his status as a top performing artist.
It was so different from Starboy that it surprised people. The influences were interesting and worked in his favor.
The real question is how this album lasts post-popularity and where it falls among his work.
